Mike "Rhino" Jones
Starting cycling from the age of 14 Mike has been passionate about the sport ever since. Racing up to an Elite level in the UK and abroad. Mike got the reputation for his aggressive style of riding and fast finish. This earned him the nickname "Rhino" given to him by former international professional and Tour rider Sean Yates. Although he has slowed down a bit in later years Mike still competes regularly in Grand Fondo's, Master's racing and Sportives such as L'Etape and the Haute Route.
Mike's highlights are winning the Midland Division Road Race Championships a record 7 times. Winning the 2014 National Vets Road Championships and finishing 10th in the World Masters Road Race Championships in Denmark 2015.
Mike's enthusiasm. knowledge and passion for all things cycling is infectious and he loves to encourage all types of riders at whatever ability.
Born and raised in Shrewsbury. Third born of four children I had a fun upbringing and have always loved caring for people. My passions are cooking, music and laughter!
I was a late starter regarding cycling having followed Mike throughout his racing career. I actually decided to start riding 5 years ago, loving the freedom and feeling of achievement of riding my bike with friends. Speed is not my thing but fun, laughter with a little bit of madness is my way of cycling. Cake and Coffee stops are compulsory on my rides.
